I am inspired by the documentary aspect of photography and its ability to capture a precise moment and freeze it in time. I derive great satisfaction from the photographer’s role as an observer and the fascination of being at the right place at the right time. Paradoxically, though, the possibilities offered by digital manipulation is every bit as appealing to me. The computer allows me to create original visual montages and collages. This creative process is similar to the work of a painter or sculptor because it enables me to personalize and transform my photos into images that defy the temporal and spatial parameters to which the original photo bears witness. Frequently, the outcome brings together eclectic themes and a symbolic transformation where I find harmony.”
